SIP Account-Specific Settings
Configure the settings to customize the Groundwire behavior and capabilities to match the requirements and preferences of your specific SIP service.
Making changes to these settings might impact your user experience. It is recommended to check with Acrobits Support or your SIP service when you intend make changes to the SIP account settings.
Accessing Advanced Settings
On the Main screen, select > Settings > Accounts.
Select the desired SIP account, then select Advanced settings.
Select after making any changes.
Android Settings
- Incoming Calls - Go to the SIP-specific account part in the Setting Incoming Call Notifications section to learn about this feature.
- NAT traversal - This has settings for network address translation (NAT) issues. Configuration of this setting depends on the network and service requirements. Check with Acrobits Support when you have to configure this setting. Read about Traversal Using Relay NAT (Turn) Server at faq.acrobits.net/turn-traversal-using-relay-nat-server.
- Proxy field - Set a specific proxy server to manage SIP communication between Groundwire and the SIP server. Configuration of this setting depends on the network and service requirements. Consult the SIP service provider, if necessary.
- Enable video calls - Go to the SIP-specific account part in the Setting the Video Call Mode section to learn about this feature.
- Allow early session for incoming calls - Enable or disable (default) to allow Groundwire to accept incoming SIP calls before the call setup is fully established. This configuration depends on the SIP service, network conditions, and preference of SIP call setup. Consult the SIP service provider for guidance, if necessary.
- Audio codecs for Wi-Fi and Audio codecs for mobile data - Lists the codecs and consists of audio settings for different network requirements.
- If necessary, touch and hold the
icon to move a codec to the enabled or disabled section or to arrange the order based on priority.
- Changing Packet time, Force packet time, Honor remote codecs, Opus option class, and G.722 options may have impact on the audio quality. Get assistance from Acrobits Support or the SIP service provider, if required.
- Video codecs for Wi-Fi and Video codecs for mobile data - Lists the video codecs and consists of video settings for different network requirements.
- If necessary, touch and hold the
icon to move a codec to the enabled or disabled section or to arrange the order based on priority.
- Changing Resolution, Bitrate, and FPS may have impact on the video quality. Get assistance from Acrobits Support or the SIP service provider as required.
- Voicemail number - Set a voicemail number.

- Override global SSID lists - Enable or disable (default) to set the allowed SSIDs or disallowed SSID specifically for this SIP account.
Once enabled, the global Allowed SSIDs and Disallowed SSIDs settings on the Network screen do not apply to this SIP account. Go to the Network Settings section to learn about global SSIDs settings.
- Auth user name field - Provided the SIP service provider for the authentication process with the SIP server. Set if required.
- Display name field - Set a desired name to display with your SIP username in the header of the SIP messages.
- Outgoing calls need registration - Enable (default) or disable Groundwire to make outgoing calls when the SIP account is in the registered stated.
- Call Waiting - Enable (default) or disable.
- Transport protocol - Select udp (default), tcp, tls (sips), or tls (sip). Consult your SIP service provider when you have to configure this setting.
- Push Options - Configures push notifications settings for this SIP account:
- Proxy field - Set a different proxy for push notifications, if required.
- Simulate NAT - Enable (default) or disable.
- Single registration - Enable or disable (default).
- Track errors - Enable or disable (default).
- Push voicemail - Enable or disable (default).
- Block registration during call - Enable or disable (default).
- Private SIPIS host field, Private SIPIS registrar field, and Private SIPIS prefix length field - For testing purposes only; fill in the host, registrar server address, and prefix length for the private SIPIS.
- Message preview - Select Full (default), Sender, or None for the preview when receiving new message notifications.
- DMTF mode - Touch and hold the
icon to move a mode to the enabled or disabled section or to arrange the order based on priority.
- Secure Calls - Configures security protocals for incoming and outgoing call of this SIP account. Read about Secure Communication at doc.acrobits.net/general/secure_communication.html for more information.
- Number rewriting - Go to the Setting SIP Account-Specific Number Rewriting section to learn about this feature.
- Call forwarding - Go to the SIP-specific account part in the Setting Call Forwarding Mode section to learn about this feature.
- Do not disturb - Go to the Setting SIP Account-Specific Automatic DND Mode section to learn about this feature.
- Ringtone - Go to the Customizing Ringtones for SIP Accounts section to learn about this feature.
- Notifications - Go to the Customizing Ringtones for SIP Accounts section to learn about this feature.
- Expires - Sets the period for the SIP account registration with the server remains valid (default - 600 seconds).
- Caller ID - Set a desired caller ID displayed in the SIP messages' header.
- Caller ID method - Set how the caller ID is determined to display in the From header From username (default), P-Preferred-Identity, P-Asserted-Identity, or Remote-Party-ID.
- Incoming caller ID - Touch and hold the
icon beside From Username, P-Preferred-Identity, P-Asserted-Identity, and Remote-Party-ID to arrange their order. This determines how Groundwire prioritizes the sources to obtain and display the incoming caller IDs in SIP messages.
- Enabled DFKS - Enable or disable (default) Device Feature Key Synchronization (DFKS).
When enabled, one of the effects is FORWARD WHEN NO ANSWER and FORWARD WHEN BUSY are visible in the call forwarding setting of this SIP account.
- SIMPLE - Go to the Enabling Messaging section to learn about this feature.
- Composing notification - Enable or disable (default).
- Delivery notifications - Enable or disable (default).
- Display calls answered elsewhere - Enable (default) or disable.
- Web services - This option has the settings related to integrating web-based services with the application.
- Auto answer - Enable or disable (default). When enabled, select a time in seconds for Groundwire to automatically answer calls after ringing and select the Audio route.
- Hacks - This option has additional settings such as ports, the authorization header, and URI format. Enable or disable as required.
Open the Keypad tab, select > Accounts.
Select the desired SIP account, then select Advanced Settings.
Select Done after making any changes.

- SIPIS username field, SIPIS auth username field, and SIPIS password field - For testing purposes only; to use different credentials (username, authorization username, and password) aside from the ones provided by your SIP service provider for the SIP instance server.
- Private SIPIS host field, Private SIPIS registrar field, and Private SIPIS prefix length - For testing purposes only; fill in the host, registrar server address, and prefix length for the private SIPIS.
- Message preview - Select Full (default), Sender, or None for the preview when receiving new message notifications.
