Introducing the Acrobits App Store Addon: App Publishing Made Easy

$500k+ for a custom softphone app?
Compare your options, costs, and other key factors by downloading our new ebook.

Your Cloud Softphone application is complete. You’ve put the finishing touches on it and set it live. What happens next?

If you open your dashboard, you’ll notice that the Cloud Softphone platform has generated the binaries you’ve purchased. If you’re exclusively interested in pushing your app to desktop users, you’re more or less done — all that’s left now is distribution. However, if you want your app to be available on mobile, that complicates matters.

Developers have called the terms of service for Apple’s iOS store a nightmare on more than one occasion, and the company’s stringent policies and requirements around app publishing can be downright painful to navigate. And even though Android’s Google Play Store has a reputation for being more open and flexible, you’ll inevitably still have to deal with a painstaking approval process if you’re a first-time developer.

If you don’t believe us, just look at the terms of service for each — altogether, that’s over a hundred thirty pages of dry, cumbersome legalese.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Apple and Google are both known for regularly changing their approval policies. In other words, not only do you have to deal with a massive, cumbersome list of rules and requirements, but you’ll also have to keep an eye out for any changes. If that doesn’t exactly sound like something you’d care to deal with, we’ve got some good news for you.

Read on to learn more about our professional service add-on designed to get your apps launched on the App Store and Play Store.

We’ll Handle the Heavy Lifting

With Full Service, Acrobits will step in and take care of the application publishing process on your behalf. We’ll also manage your relationship with the Apple and Google stores, and inform you when there are any policy changes that might impact your business. Finally, if you’re running a white label softphone service, we’ll also handle the initial setup of your developer account — all we’ll need from you is your preferred credentials.

To enable Full Service:

  1. Open your dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Features and Pricing.
  3. You should see an option to enable Full Service right after Production Builds.
  4. Toggle the option, then click Submit.

Once Full Service has been enabled, you’ll notice a new button on the main screen of your dashboard, right next to your application binaries, Release to Stores. Clicking on it will initiate the publishing process. We strongly advise that you download your application binaries for full testing first, so you can ensure everything is running properly and effectively.

Beyond that, however, the rest is up to us.

Application Updates and New Builds

Every time Acrobits launches a new build, you’ll see a notice in your dashboard that your current production build is using an older version. To update, we advise first creating and downloading a copy of your app for testing. Once you’ve confirmed that our build doesn’t break anything in your app, simply submit it for review and set it live, and we’ll make sure it gets published.

If you need to update your app for any reason, the process remains the same — simply test, submit, and push live.

Taking the Headaches Out of App Management

Dealing with app stores can be a confusing, frustrating, and time-consuming process, even for a professional developer. Between ridiculously long terms of service documents, ever-changing policies, and strict requirements, it’s enough to drive anyone mad. As an Acrobits client, you can put that entire process and the stress it entails out of your mind.

We’ll handle not only your app’s initial build but every single update, as well. The only thing you need to do is test your services prior to release. Beyond that, you can focus on doing what you do best, while we take care of all the heavy lifting.

You can enable the full service during the initial launching process of your app.
